The country requires an academic system that is not influenced by the socioeconomic status of the family and the school of origin of applicants, whether they come from municipal, subsidized or private schools. We wish to design and promote more equitable access to higher education.
Our primary priority is to raise academic quality standards for undergraduate and graduate programs offered by the member universities.
Rising funds for university activities, specifically research in different areas of study is a challenge anywhere. We seek to find efficient ways of managing public and private funds.
The Chilean university system requires revision and a reorganization of priorities and methodologies. We believe that integrative alternatives must be implemented to achieve the quality, equity and relevance standards sought by the country.
Our mission is to play an active role in public policy. Our responsibility with Chile is to have a hand in the creation, analysis and active debates related to higher education, science, technology and innovation.
Our network seeks to be part of a larger international network of universities made up of research-intensive institutions dedicated to advanced studies.
The strengthening of joint research capacities for all areas of study and knowledge is one of the most important priorities today. The system requires a strong focus on innovation and industry partnerships.
The Chilean society must be aware of the importance of world-class research universities. For this we focus on broadening communications about the contributions made by Chilean member universities to knowledge and the training of doctoral graduates.
